Statement:
The United States is in the throes of a political crisis. An increasing number of Americans, including many from within the ranks of Democratic Party elected officials, are rejecting President Biden, finding little to no confidence in his ability to lead with competence and integrity. For many, the tipping point came long before the June debate – it came in October 2023 when Biden endorsed the Israeli genocide of Palestinians, revealing his utter disregard for human life.
Biden’s performance in the recent debate against Donald Trump included the claim, “I know how to tell the truth.” This statement flies in the face of nine months of lies the President has presented to Americans regarding the genocide in Gaza, including seeing evidence of 40 beheaded Israeli babies. His assertion that Hamas is the sole entity prolonging the war is also demonstrably false. It is the Israeli government, not Hamas, that openly declares its desire to continue the conflict.
We don’t have any delusions about Donald Trump either and the culture of hate he continues to create. His repeated use of “Palestinian” as a slur, and the shocking lack of both media and political reaction, underscores the pervasive dehumanization and demonization of Palestinians. But he put into words what the Biden administration has been doing for months.
The Abandon Biden Campaign began when Biden refused to call for a ceasefire in Gaza by the October 31, 2023, deadline. On November 1, 2023— “Ceasefire Deadline Day”—people of conscience vowed to never vote for Biden and to actively campaign against him. Leaders in crucial swing states—Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina—are mobilizing their communities to ensure Biden loses these pivotal states.
A recent study in The Lancet lays bare the catastrophic human cost of Joe Biden’s policies, estimating that at least 180,000 Palestinians—8% of Gaza’s population—have been slaughtered by Israeli forces. The blood of Palestinians stains not only Biden but his entire administration.
We will hold Biden accountable at the ballot box. That is our plan, that is our mission. But we reiterate our demand that this President step down from re-election. Far too many have been killed under Biden. The time has come for him to drop out of this race.
