The Abandon Harris campaign condemns the horrific escalation of violence in Gaza, where Israeli forces continue their relentless assault on innocent civilians. Today, Israeli tanks shelled a school in Nuseirat, killing 22 displaced Palestinians and wounding 80. In a separate attack, Israeli fighter jets bombed tents housing displaced families within the grounds of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah, sparking fires that rescue crews are still struggling to control. The number of dead and wounded from this latest strike is unknown, but targeting a hospital and those seeking shelter from the violence is a war crime of the highest order.
These atrocities—bombing schools and hospitals, incinerating civilians—are the direct result of the U.S. government’s unwavering financial and military support for Israel. As we witness these crimes unfold in real-time, the moral failure of the Biden-Harris administration becomes undeniable. This is not an unfortunate oversight in U.S. foreign policy—this is active complicity in genocide.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent tweet, vaguely urging Israel to “do more” to facilitate aid, is an insult to the suffering of Palestinians. The U.S. is not a bystander. It is fueling this carnage, providing weapons and political cover as Palestinians are burned alive in their homes, hospitals, and schools. To pretend the U.S. can do nothing but urge restraint is as disingenuous as it is appalling.
The Abandon Harris campaign reminds voters of the chilling words spoken by Aaron Bushnell before he self-immolated in front of an Israeli embassy in February 2024: “This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal.” The horrors we see today in Gaza are not normal, and they cannot be tolerated any longer.
This election, we urge all people of conscience to reject politicians who have enabled this barbarism. Vote for humanity. Vote to end the slaughter. Vote to stop the U.S. government’s complicity in these crimes. We must break this cycle of violence once and for all.
